Are you over 50? You could be at risk ...
Macular disease is the leading cause of legal blindness in Australia. But if you know your risk and take action, you could save your sight.

What can I do about it?
Many Australians are at risk of vision loss but don’t know it. A staggering 1 in 7 people over 50 already show signs of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
If you’re 50+, or you’re living with diabetes or have a family member with age-related macular degeneration, you have an even greater risk of macular disease.
However, early diagnosis and treatment could save your sight.
Find out whether you or a family member are at higher risk of Macular Disease.

Don’t Neglect Your Children’s Vision
As the new school year kicks off, it's prime time to ensure your children are seeing clearly with a comprehensive eye examination from your local Optometrist.

Did you know that 80% of school learning stems from vision?
If a child's sight isn't sharp, it can impact their ability to learn. Often, children won't voice vision complaints because they assume everyone sees as they do.
One prevalent issue is child myopia, affecting over 1/3 of the global population, a number set to surge to 50% by 2050. Myopia, or nearsightedness, blurs distance vision while allowing clear sight up close. It typically arises between ages 7 and 13, during rapid growth phases or when the eyeball grows too swiftly for the child's age.
Myopia in adulthood can lead to serious eye diseases like glaucoma, myopic macular degeneration, cataracts, and retinal detachments. Hence, early detection in children is crucial. Detecting myopia early not only improves their vision but also helps manage and slow its progression.
Treatment often involves glasses, contact lenses, and special eyedrops to correct and decelerate myopia. By addressing myopia promptly, we can enhance children's vision and mitigate future eye health risks.
Imagine seeing the world through the eyes of a myopic child
Don't gamble with your child's sight. Schedule their eye exam today and ensure they have the clarity they need for a successful academic year and a bright future ahead!
